Mendon-Upton Education Foundation (MUEF)

Coding Using RoboMaster TT Tello Drone; Color Blind Glasses; Alcohol Impairment Goggles; Nipmuc Justice Coalition; Spooky Run 5k; Harlem Wizards Basketball; all initiatives that are sponsored or funded by the Mendon-Upton Education Foundation. MUEF was founded in 2005 to motivate students to become lifelong learners by providing funding, ideas, and other resources to educators in our district who are seeking to create innovative and sustainable programming in their classrooms and schools. Our mission is to support educational programs championed by all schools in the district; Clough, Memorial, Miscoe, and Nipmuc while supporting corner stones of academic inquiry from the arts to the sciences and technologies.
"We are excited to continue MUEF’s mission of bringing these opportunities to our district and  to be able improve the opportunities and awareness that grant funding can offer. By funding  these programs, we are supporting Mendon-Upton Regional School District staff, while  promoting a sense of community. Our efforts are to propose and implement funding for ideas  that encourage excellence through creative learning.” said MUEF President Gina Geraci.
A complete list of the grants awarded since FY2019 is available on the https://www.muef.org/copy-of-grants and click “Grants in Action” in the dropdown menu. You can also find information on applying for grants and guidelines for grant preparation. The grant cycle opens every year in January. The MUEF Grant Sub Committee met recently this past spring to evaluate applications for the 2023 grant cycle and will be notifying winning applicants in the upcoming weeks.
MUEF is a non-profit, private charitable organization that seeks tax-deductible gifts and bequests from citizens, businesses, and organizations. The money we raise is then used to fund creative, innovative and sustainable programming in our schools and classrooms. The initiatives we support extend beyond the normal operating budget of the district as determined by State and Federal Departments of Education.
Current members include: Executive Committee
Gina Geraci – President, Linda Thompson - Vice President, James Forkey – Treasurer, Megan Ronzio – Secretary; Trustees include Jeremy Bennett, Victoria Wilkinson, Sean Nicholson and Matt Hagen.
MUEF is currently seeking new members, no experience necessary. Members meet monthly to discuss grant applications, community events, fundraising, and special projects. This is a great opportunity to serve your community, get involved with the school district, and meet new people without an extensive time commitment.
