NEW Writer’s Group Starting November 4!
Looking for a quiet, dedicated time and place where you can write? Join the Milford Area Wordsmiths writer's group. We provide a safe place for adults (18+) to write and even share your work if you desire. All levels are welcome, from first-time writers to published authors.
All genres are welcome, too, from picture books to romantasy to nonfiction.
The group will meet First and Third Monday of each month (except holidays) 7 to 8:30 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome. The Milford Area Wordsmiths will be facilitated by Carol Allen, a first-time writer of children's books, lifelong bookworm, and recently retired middle-school teacher. For more information, please call 508-473-2145, extension 2.
Around Town: Atelier Artists
During October, the Atelier Artists are back with their annual challenge exhibit. This year’s theme is Around Town and we expect an array of highly personal and diverse artwork. In previous years, this group of senior artists have tackled still life, limited palette, doors, interiors and more. The artwork will be displayed behind and across from the Information Desk.
Watercolor & Zentangle Exhibit
The adult display case will feature watercolor and zentangle artwork created by students in Marí Steinmann’s art classes at the Milford Senior Center. Marí is also a member of the Atelier Artists.
Center Book Group
The Center Book Group will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Milford Senior Center to discuss Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth.
Hepworth, author of The Mother-in-Law, The Younger Wife and other novels, knows how to craft page turners and Darling Girls is no exception. Jessica, Norah and Alicia, sisters who met in foster care, are now adults with tight bonds and secrets. When human remains are found during demolition of their foster home, those secrets threaten to disrupt their relatively calm adult lives.
To reserve a copy or to learn more about the Center Book Group, please call the Information Desk at 508-473-2145, extension 219 or email Anne at [email protected]
