Devonte Johnson, 28, of Dorchester was arrested on Nov. 2 on charges related to a brush fire that damaged Town of Milford owned land in the wooded area near 296 West Street. 

At approximately 8:48 a.m., the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received calls reporting a brush fire and a male, later identified as Devonte Johnson, running away from the scene. 

Following a short foot pursuit, Johnson was taken into custody without further incident. Johnson was held on $1,500 bail and transported to the Worcester House of Corrections to await arraignment on the following charges: burn land/tree/lumber/produce, set fire on another’s land, set fire in open, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.
